Kristin Jones is the wife of a former UAW President and mother to two homeschooled children now aged 20 and 24.  Her involvement in the community includes roles as a Children’s Pastor and community activist for neighborhoods on the near Westside.  Her love for her community coalesced into the political arena in 2012 and 2014 where she became a campaign manager for House and Senate races respectively.  In 2015, she tackled a new role as a Campaign Finance Director for a gubernatorial campaign and set and all-time fundraising record for the state of Indiana of $17 million in less than 18 months.  Her ability to organize volunteers for both the community and political campaigns...

Bio Information


Major K. Kendall Mathews a native Detroiter who holds degrees from Greenville University, and Andersonville Theological Seminary. He served in The Salvation Army as a corps officer in the inner city of Detroit for five years and at the Pontiac Corps of North Oakland County from 1991 to 2001. During these assignments, he ministered to the holistic needs of people from poverty-stricken backgrounds of different ethnic roots.

From 2001-2008 he served in the Eastern Michigan Division as the Divisional Secretary, Detroit City Commander and Metro Detroit Area Coordinator, responsible for 13 Corps Community Centers located throughout Metro Detroit as well as the inner-city. Before...

Rima Shahid joined the Muslim Alliance of Indiana (MAI) in June 2015 and has been the Executive Director of MAI since of October 2015.  As Executive Director, Rima is mandated to lead the implementation of MAI’s mission of cultivating interfaith harmony, building a diverse inclusive Hoosier Muslim community, and collective action to preserve civil rights liberties for all Hoosiers.  Within a short span of time, Rima has significantly enhanced MAI’s impact by developing seminars, workshops, other initiatives to further community.  She is a regular speaker at political and interfaith events.

Dr. Dennis C. Sasso has been Senior Rabbi of Congregation Beth-El Zedeck since 1977.  Rabbi Sasso obtained his B.A. from Brandeis University, in Near Eastern and Judaic studies; his M.A. in Religion from Temple University and was ordained at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in 1974.  He holds a Doctor of Ministry in Theology from Christian Theological Seminary, Indianapolis, Indiana and is the recipient of various Doctor of Divinity Honorary degrees.   
Rabbi Sasso is a native of Panama and a descendent of Caribbean Sephardic families.  He lectures nationally and internationally on Caribbean and Central American Sephardic Jewry and teaches about Reconstructionism...

Margie Worrell is the Immersive Learning Initiatives Manager at United Way of Central Indiana. Through her work as a teacher and with other nonprofit organizations, she has developed a warm, engaging presentation style which welcomes her audiences to come along on an educational journey. Her current mission is to take community members into the lives of citizens who are living in poverty, helping them develop a deeper understanding of the complex issues surrounding poverty and empowering them to join in the fight for the self-sufficiency of every person in Central Indiana.

Ronnie Ramos is the executive editor of the Indianapolis Star where he oversees all news coverage and platforms. He joined the Star in 2013 as the sports director and was promoted to managing director in 2014. He was named executive editor in 2016.

Before joining the Star, Ramos was the managing director of digital communications for the NCAA. At the NCAA, he oversaw content creation and dissemination for the association’s web sites, and, and was responsible for the development and implementation of social media strategies, mobile applications and new digital initiatives. He helped negotiate the NCAA’s current 14-year digital rights agreement with Turner Sports.
