Kevin Kramer, Indianapolis Indians infielder: Indianapolis Indians infielder Kevin Kramer is a highly-regarded prospect within the Pittsburgh Pirates organization. The 24-year-old was selected by the Pirates in the second round of the 2015 MLB Draft out of UCLA, where he was part of the 2013 College World Series championship team, the first in school history. Kramer, a native of Turlock, Calif., is in his first season in Triple-A and thriving with the Tribe. He leads the team with seven home runs and has made starts at second, third and shortstop.

The month of May in Indianapolis is a celebration of the world’s largest single-day sporting event – the Indianapolis 500. Beyond that, the 500 Festival also embraces a very important holiday in the midst of its festivities – Memorial Day and a weekend to remember the sacrifices made by Indiana men and women who perished while serving in the armed forces.

2017’s Memorial Service featured Keynote Speaker General Robert B. Abrams, Commanding General of the United States Army Forces Command.

Cindy Lanane is the Associate Director of the Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ICADV) and has worked for ICADV since 1996.   She began her involvement in the domestic violence movement in 1982, when she became a volunteer for Alternatives, Inc., a domestic violence residential shelter in Anderson, IN.  Cindy continued her victim services work as a legal advocate for Alternatives, and later served on their board of directors for several years.  She then continued her career in victim services as the Director of the Victim Advocacy Program in Madison County.  As the first victim advocate in the Madison County Criminal Justice System, Cindy was instrumental in...

Jeremy VanAndel is the vice president of development and marketing for Indy Reads, Central Indiana’s leading adult literacy nonprofit. Jeremy and his team are responsible for overseeing all fundraising and community outreach for the 34-year-old organization, as well as assisting the Mass Ave bookstore – Indy Reads Books – in growing as a social venture. Jeremy joined Indy Reads in December 2017 after serving with the Humane Society of Indianapolis as chief development officer for nearly five years. Jeremy, his wife, son, dog, cat, and chickens live just off the Monon Trail south of Broad Ripple.
